About Us

In the Name of Allāh, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
We welcome you to Raza Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre. Our mosque is named after Imām Aḥmed Raza Khan (ra) a scholar and reformer of the 20th century from the Indo-Pak subcontinent. The word Jamia signifies a large public mosque where all the Muslims can congregate for Friday prayers.

The First Masjid was established in Accrington on Blackburn Road in what is believed to be back in 1967 by the chairman of the committee Haji Sardar. The Raza Jamia Masjid opened in 1990 on Grimshaw Street the picture you can see above.
Raza Jamia Masjid/Madrasah currently teaches estimated 450 students and with the help and support of the community the number of students are growing regularly.

As you can imagine, running of the masjid and education centre requires much care and maintenance. If you would like to support and help please donate generously. The donation details can be found on our donations page.
